1. 기본 모음 다음의 11개예요1. Eleven letters after the basic ten
1강에서 ㅏ·ㅑ·ㅓ·ㅕ·ㅗ·ㅛ·ㅜ·ㅠ·ㅡ·ㅣ를 배웠어요. 이번 11개를 더하면 모음은 모두 21개예요. 모양을 이루는 부분을 비교하되, 부분의 소리를 하나씩 따로 읽는 것은 아니에요.Lesson 1 covered ㅏ, ㅑ, ㅓ, ㅕ, ㅗ, ㅛ, ㅜ, ㅠ, ㅡ, ㅣ. These eleven complete the set of twenty-one vowels. Compare the written parts, but do not pronounce each part separately.

세로 모양: ㅐ·ㅒ·ㅔ·ㅖVertical shapes: ㅐ, ㅒ, ㅔ, ㅖ
ㅗ가 들어 있는 모양Shapes containing ㅗ
ㅜ 또는 ㅡ가 들어 있는 모양Shapes containing ㅜ or ㅡ
‘애’와 ‘에’, ‘왜·외·웨’는 실제 말에서 비슷하게 들릴 수 있어요. 소리만 추측해 표기를 고르지 말고, 단어의 뜻과 올바른 표기를 함께 익혀요.애 and 에, and 왜, 외 and 웨, may sound similar in actual speech. Learn each word’s meaning and spelling together, rather than guessing the spelling from sound alone.
3. 한 글자 안에 배치해 봐요3. Keep the vowel inside one block
ㅇ + ㅐ → 애
ㄴ + ㅔ → 네
세로 모양 모음은 자음 오른쪽에 있어요.Vertical vowel shapes sit to the right of the consonant.
ㅇ + ㅘ → 와
ㄱ + ㅟ → 귀
ㅘ·ㅟ처럼 가로와 세로 부분이 있는 모음은 자음의 아래와 오른쪽을 함께 감싸요.Vowels with horizontal and vertical parts, such as ㅘ and ㅟ, extend below and to the right of the consonant.
과자(snack): 과 = ㄱ + ㅘ, 자 = ㅈ + ㅏ.
의자(chair): 의 = ㅇ + ㅢ, 자 = ㅈ + ㅏ. ㅢ의 발음은 쓰임에 따라 달라질 수 있으므로 단어 음성을 함께 확인해요.과자 (snack): 과 = ㄱ + ㅘ, 자 = ㅈ + ㅏ.
의자 (chair): 의 = ㅇ + ㅢ, 자 = ㅈ + ㅏ. The pronunciation of ㅢ can vary with context; use word audio alongside the spelling.
